At MIP Cancun 2022 earlier this year, Parrot Analytics' Partner Insights Director, Monica Trujillo-Jamison's presentation placed particular emphasis on viewers' most important resource: their time. As streaming platforms continue growing and evolving, audiences need to manage the time spent on the content they consume. In this attention economy, it's important to know the form and content on which audiences choose to spend their time. The trend most observed is the increasing demand for telenovelas, Japanese, Korean, Turkish content, and anime among Latin American viewers.
Monica was also joined by Telemundo Streaming Studios' Vice President of Original Content, Carlos Quintanilla Sakar, who highlighted that it is not just about replicating successful content. An analytical approach is imperative to find the factors that made a piece of content successful, and to use this knowledge to make better decisions to create something new.
