At the Copenhagen Future TV Conference, Parrot Analytics' Amit Devani presented a talk on how to estimate the global value of a movie or TV series.
The American strike among screenwriters, actors and directors was primarily about agreeing on the value of artistic works and artists. Parrot Analytics emerged as the only third-party data source to provide accurate valuation assessments of entertainment and its content valuation system was utilized in the interim agreement during strike negotiations.
With the further development of such systems, can we skip tough negotiations about rights issues in the future and instead start conversations with data-backed figures?
Parrot Analytics content valuation is based on billions of data and fed into their proprietary system that can give estimations of content value – for example, what a TV series like Peaky Blinders represents of economic value to Netflix, and what a talent like Jason Sudeikis (Ted Lasso) is actually worth for Apple.
In this presentation, learn the levers of valuation that power global negotiations for content and walk away with an understanding of the essential metrics for any producer, commissioner, creator, or talent.
